I picked the place due to its rating but I'm disappointed. There are only two lines that could have been replaced. Neither of which is more than $100 at a local parts store. Got charged $200.00. ok, so I get it, places need to make money, maybe there's a commission involved? Don't know but that seems rather steep for mark up. What's more when I look I can't tell which one was even changed. Leads me to think that maybe only a certain section was actually "repaired". If so that's even more insulting. I know they pride themselves on being honest but I "honestly" can't figure out what they did that should cost what it did...lesson learned.

I'm sorry if your disappointed with our service or maybe our price. I'm glad you have brought this up about the price. It's a very common thing in our industry. It's pretty simple, however if you don't know than it can be misconstrued. It's kind of like buying a hamburger.... You can get one for $1.50 or another place may have one for $8. The difference is you cant buy the $8 for a $1.50. The beef would cost more than $1.50. Why would anyone want the $8 burger ? Isn't a burger a burger ? ? We all know the $8 burger will be superior to the $1.50 burger. This is the same case with your hose assembly. The hose from Toyota for your vehicle has a cost of $396 and change. You could probably find hoses at the local auto parts store or online for as cheap as $25. Now the cheaper one may fit, may not leak, may not damage other components to your vehicle and may have a life-time warranty. That would be great..... Only if it were true. We as professionals and with a reputation for service at stake cant rely on "do it yourself" kind of parts. We use parts we can stand behind and yet maintain a level of quality for our customers and at the best price possible. In your case specifically the next best option would be the hose from Toyota at nearly double the cost. So in fact we checked your vehicle and diagnosed the leak for free. We had provided an estimate for repairs. You approved the repairs. The Repairs were made and we cleaned up the fluid mess under the vehicle at no extra cost. Your car is back on the road with no concern other than cost and you need to come by so we can show you where it is located. And at a "Fair and Honest" price. Just to clarify there are NO COMMISSION EMPLOYEES at Litchfield Auto Repair. Everyone is on a salary which is one major difference between the competition and our shop. Great place to have your servicing or repairs taken care of. They keep you updated on progress, and offer great advice. The go to guys, if your not mechanically minded, and are very reasonably priced compared to other shops. A shop that you can rely upon and trust.

I have a 97’ F-150 and and it had an electrical issue that could’ve potentially drained the battery. I arrived at the shop and was immediately assisted with diagnosing and was repaired quicker than I could’ve asked for! Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. I’d highly recommend!

My Jeep has been battling an nagging problem with the rear axle assembly for more than a year. The axle assembly had been rebuilt within the last couple years by another shop before I bought the Jeep. It's failed several times due to premature bearing wear with less than 12k miles driven since being rebuilt by the other shop. This past week the Litchfield Auto Repair team resolved the mystery responsible for the bearing failure. They determined the axle assembly had been bent and was causing the premature bearing wear. The previous shop didn't take the time to figure this out. Phil showed me the bearing wear and explained how the bent axle was responsible for the bearing failure. Litchfield even sent the axle housing out for testing to confirm their conclusion. After resolving the axle housing mystery they also installed new front and rear springs and adjustable lower control arms. My Jeep rides like new now! I choose Litchfield Auto to care for my vehicles because they are competent, transparent and committed to being fair and honest. The team is friendly and they stand behind their work. Thank you Litchfield Auto for all you do!

Absolutely impressed!!!! In the last 8 months, I have now taken my Lincoln MKS to Litchfield Auto Repair to have a waterpump replaced; my 1966 mustang GT in for a tune up, and my Suburban in for a rear main seal leak repair. All 3 services were fairly priced but the most impressive elements in my experience was the honesty, the recommended suggestions for preventive care for the future, and the personalized detail given to all three vehicles. Mark, did a great job communicating with me during each repair and explaining what the repair of each area would mean to my hehicles performance. This is a differentiator from most auto shops. I’ve never had anyone take the time to explain to me the performance factors in repair. I have a fourth vehicle, a Mercedes CL55 AMG that has come upon its scheduled B plan service. I will be taking that vehicle in to Litchfield Auto Repair within the next 30 days. The prices at the Mercedes Service Department is over $700. I’m sure the cost will be fair less at Litchfield Auto Repair and I’m confident the quality of the work will be equal to that of the Mercedes Service Department since Litchfield Auto Repair has Mercedes certified mechanics. I’ll be sure to post a review after the service. Quality, price, honesty, and communication are still alive at Litchfield auto repair.

These folks are good, honest, and NOT pushy. I will go on to say that they communicate well and offer reasonably distanced rides when they're working on your vehicle. But ultimately they are good, honest and NOT pushy! Which is what any car owner wants from a mechanic! The only thing I don't like is that when you walk in there is no reception desk... Just a waiting room so when you walk in for the first time it is confusing until someone pokes their head out of an office to greet you.

Phil and team were great! My son's car was having a cylinder misfire on his spring break road trip. These guys diagnosed and resolved the problem within a couple hours of my son arriving without an appointment. The price was fair and service and communication was excellent.
